Our FAQ's

The original vehicles that our trailers are modelled from look super cool, but they are very unreliable and expensive to maintain… Their engines are underpowered and overheat due to the poor engine air-cooling systems from way back, meaning they aren’t suitable to drive any distance, especially with the extra weight required for your appliances and stock. And with safety regulations constantly evolving, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep vintage vehicles to a road legal standard, as well as the costs for doing this can spiral out of control, leaving you with big repair bills, repeated breakdowns, and lots of stress.

Our replica trailers cost 50-70% less than the cost of converting an original vehicle, they are brand new and custom-built to your exact specification, plus we design & build your trailer to modern road-legal type approval standards. Our replica trailers still attract the crowds, just like an original vehicle, but will save you a whole lot of money, time, and stress, so you can concentrate more on running your business!

Our current production time is 22 – 24 weeks. This timeframe is started after you have confirmed the design of your trailer (internal/external layouts and 3D mock-ups). If you already have your own designs, this can speed up your total trailer build timeframe.

Unfortunately no, as all of our trailers are custom built to individual client designs and specifications, from the colour of the bodywork, to the internal layout and signage it would be pretty much impossible to keep them in stock.

You can view any trailers we have in production at our South Tyneside workshops and warehouse address (by appointment only). Alternativley we can arrange a visit to a previous customers premises or event where they will be using their trailer built by Retro Replicas (COVID depending).

Yes, our trailers are type approved for the US, UK, EU and Asia Pacific markets. If you require your trailer for private land/private road use only, we can remove the road legal items such as electric brakes, electric axle, overrun towing hitch, type/dot approved lights, etc, saving you money on your overall trailer build.
